9/1/2023 0 Comments Oracle vm boxLook for “Oracle VM VirtualBox” in the list of installed programs. This will lead you to the Programs and Features window. Type “appwiz.cpl” in the text field and press Enter. Phew! Now that the background processes are stopped, let's get rid of VirtualBox from your system. Wait until the service is stopped before proceeding to the next one. Right-click on each service and choose “Stop”. VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter Service Scroll down and locate the following services: This will take you to the Services window. Type “services.msc” in the text field and press Enter. Press the “Windows” key + “R” on your keyboard to open the Run dialog. Right-click the VirtualBox icon in the system tray in the bottom-right corner of your screen and choose “Close”. If you're wondering how to do that, here's how: Equally important is that you need to stop any VirtualBox services that may be running in the background. Maybe to free up hard drive space or maybe to switch to another virtual machine application, who knows? Anyway, if you want to do that, here's a step-by-step guide to do just that!įirstly, you must shut down running virtual machines that are currently using VirtualBox. However, there might come a time when you want to say goodbye to VirtualBox and un-install it for some reason. Ah, Oracle VirtualBox! A tool of virtualization that allows one to run multiple operating systems on just one computer! It's quite useful for people who like to tinker with software configurations, experiment with hardware setups, or IT administrators who just like to keep up with the latest dev-environments. Then it reverted back to 1024x768 and I couldn't change anything. I plugged it in via HDMI and the "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" box was active, so I changed it to its native 1920x1080 resolution. I recently built a rig for a friend of mine using my monitor. I've tried to update the driver by picking it from a list of device drivers on my computer, but ASUS isn't listed, and none of the standard monitor types with 1920x1080 60Hz resolution makes any difference. I've updated my graphics card's driver, and even did a 'clean' driver install. This monitor has no drivers or software, and the ASUS monitor manager software thing doesn't recognize the monitor as an ASUS monitor. The "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" box is grayed out, and the NVidia Control Panel doesn't offer any solutions even after I try to set up a custom resolution. I have a GTX 760 graphics card, so AMD's CCC isn't an option for me (which seems to be a fix for most, if not all, Radeon users). I've tried lots of different brands of HDMI cords and all give the same Generic name. So I resorted to using a VGA connection, which then recognizes the monitor by its name. I've scoured the internet, and here, for a solution but could never find one. This causes my monitor to display 1024x768 resolution as its native resolution when using an HDMI connection. I have an ASUS VS247H monitor that was recognized as a Generic Non-PnP Monitor around 2 years ago. 9/1/2023 0 Comments Microsoft surface go 3 priceZDNET's editorial team writes on behalf of you, our reader.
